Steve Bannon, Trump's former White House chief strategist, was convicted in July 2022 on two counts of contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the House January 6th Committee.
Bannon was sentenced to four months in prison. After appeals delayed his incarceration, Bannon reported to federal prison in Connecticut on July 1, 2024, following the Supreme Court's rejection of his emergency appeal.
Bannon was also indicted in August 2020 on federal charges of defrauding donors to a crowdfunding campaign to build Trump's border wall, but Trump pardoned him on January 20, 2021, his last day in office. Bannon still faces related state charges in New York.
